Inglewood’s Helping Hands
IT IS ALL LOVE
The mission of Inglewood’s Helping Hands is to provide housing, food, clothing, educational and public health resources to the most vulnerable populations of Inglewood and surrounding cities. We accomplish this by organizing food and toy drives, community clean-ups, and other charitable events.
History
Inglewood’s Helping Hands was founded in 2017 by Kaitlyn Parhm as an effort to revive and pour back into the same community that shaped her as a child. Inglewood’s Helping Hands grew out of the needs of community members and started with a tweet from the founder asking for canned food donations for families in need. Over the years it has developed into an essential resource helping hundreds of families and community members in Los Angeles County, with an emphasis on those in the city of Inglewood.
Vision
The vision of Inglewood’s Helping Hands is to become a centralized hub of community networks and resources to serve the most vulnerable amongst us. In addition, we strive to partner with community-based organizations to eliminate historic systemic inequalities that produce the inequitable conditions seen on local, state, and national levels.
